Why choose a concrete floor?
Concrete is the floor of choice for hospitals, factories and warehouses, and the reason is maintenance: once it is down and finished it needs very little. It costs less to lay than timber or steel alternatives, it lasts, and it can be specified to take whatever the building is going to put through it — foot traffic, forklifts, or mechanical stress that would destroy anything softer.

Questions we get asked
What thickness do we need?
It is set by the loading, the sub-base and whether the slab is reinforced — not by a rule of thumb. Send the structural drawings and we will price what is on them.
Can a concrete floor be the finished floor?
Yes, and it often is. Power floating closes and hardens the surface, and it will then take epoxy, resin, a polish, or be left as it is. It is the finish at the Curve theatre in Leicester.
How long before it takes load?
Concrete reaches most of its strength in 28 days, but foot traffic and following trades are usually much sooner. What matters is what is going on it and when — tell us and we will give you a date rather than a rule.
