Concrete screed is the traditional method of floor screeding, which uses a concrete and sand mix to provide a relatively dry material which is then laid on to the concrete base of the building. It is usually mixed by hand then trowelled and smoothed to give you a clean finish. Concrete screed is an important part of the building or renovating process. The original concrete base of a building It provides a level base for the final flooring to be laid and so makes it easier for you to get a sleek and professional finish. Concrete screed is also used in locations where drainage is needed and the floor needs to dip to a drainage point.

Concrete screed requires a curing time to give it its integral strength. This is usually done over a few days, but when this is complete, your screed is then ready to lay your final flooring.
